Our 2026 Fall Season
It’s Session 17 of Circus Performers Anonymous. Six former coworkers are in government-mandated therapy to integrate back into society after their Circus was shut down due to embezzlement and multiple workplace safety violations. Doc, the therapist leading the session, tries to keep everything on track, whilst chaos ensues around them. A comedic look at the small-scale effect of societal pressures on the individual, Circus Performers (Semi) Anonymous aims to bring levity to commentary on the issues that affect us all in a variety of ways.
On a Friday morning in Newton Village, three council-members find out they have no more meetings or responsibilities! However, their plans for a long weekend are stopped by Jenny, a townspeople who breaks the news that her brother was just killed by a giant bear that is on its way to wreak havoc on the town.
A young woman’s plans to get through her last shift as a carney at the Cloverdale Rodeo are cut short when a missing kid becomes her responsibility. Along with a washed-up clown and a dazzling cowgirl, Snover does her best to help the little girl get back to her parents, while still remembering the ultimate reward: a massive Snoopy plushy at the ring toss stand she operates for minimum wage.
Our Typical Season
Every fall and spring semester, we put out a call for students to submit short plays, 30-45 minutes in length. We choose three plays for each season.
Then, teams of students are put together for each play: directors, designers, stage managers, and technical teams. Auditions are held by the directors to cast their productions. It’s a very quick process; each show has 1-4 weeks to rehearse, depending on their slot in the season.
Each show then has three performances. The shows are performed in the Barbara MacIntyre Theatre at the Phoenix, a little black-box studio theatre that offers flexibility for student designers. Performances are during the Phoenix lunch hour (12:45pm on Wednesdays and Fridays and 1:15pm on Thursdays).
Accessibility Guide
The accessibility guide is a document created for SATCo audience members attending our shows. This document contains information about trigger warnings and content notes, accessibility, and more.
We usually post the accessibility guide for each show a few days prior to the show’s opening performance. Please reach out to our Liaison if you have any questions or concerns!
